Senator Calls For Federal Investigation of Animal Rights Organization

The hits keep coming for the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS). Last month their CEO had to resign after sexual harassment allegations and now a state senator is calling for a federal investigation into their deceptive fund raising activities. The investigation would center around the idea that a lot of people that donate to the organization believe they are donating to their an umbrella organization that runs animal shelters.

According to Humane Watch, Kentucky State Senator Robin Webb (D-Grayson) has called for Kentucky Attorney General Andy Beshear and U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions to investigate the fundraising tactics of the Humane Society of the United.

Webb said, “It is far better to donate to local shelters and support your local humane society that are non-affiliates. If they’re on the ground, actually doing work, other than using disasters for fundraising tactics, they’re usually a legitimate Humane Society rescue.”

“Their (HSUS’s) ultimate agenda, according to their past director, is to end all hunting, end animal ownership and utilization for recreation, sport and other things.”

She finished by saying, “If you love your pets, and you want to keep, utilize and enjoy them, along with other endeavors pertaining to hunting, fishing, dog shows, whatever it is, be very leery of what’s going on. Peel the layers back, know who you’re giving your money to, know the work they do, and know their underlying agenda.”

Hopefully the Justice department will decide to investigate and put an end to the deception. I am sure they raise tons of money from well meaning people that think they are helping their local shelter. There lies need to stop.
