Deer Seen On Roof Of Auto Parts Store

SYRACUSE, N.Y.

“We don’t know how he got up there and we don’t know how he got down,” said Marshall Saperstein. “We can only speculate.” Saperstein works at midtown, the auto parts store who’s roof the deer decided to climb on to.

Ed Calkins, who works at Bon Ton Glass on Burnet Avenue, said he stopped to take a photo. He thinks the deer might have jumped on the roof from the off-ramp, but he didn’t see the deer get on or off the roof.

“I was concerned with how it was going to get down and then what would happen to it,” Calkins said.

Saperstein said they sounded an alarm to try to coax the deer off the roof, but it didn’t work. By about 7:30 a.m., the deer was gone as mysteriously as it arrived.

“This has never happened in 50 years,” Saperstein said.
